If you suspect your husband of cheating, make sure you give him plenty of rope to hang himself with. By that I mean let him make the mistakes - so don't accuse him until you have concrete proof that will stand up in court, if it comes to it. Infidelity is on the rise, so here are some of the top ways available to catch your cheating husband.
1. A large majority of cheaters will do so in their own beds at some point during a relationship. If you think your partner may have cheated on you in your own bed, or may still be doing it, here is a good tip. Make your bed in a particular way that is different from the normal way you do it, if your husband has been using at he will have made it afterwards, and you will be able to tell.
2. Trap him. You should use one of your female friends that you husband does not know to help you with this. Ask your friend to hit on your husband either in a bar or at a party, and have her record the conversation. The best way I found to do this is to have your friend call your answering service as she is talking to your husband. This way you will have solid proof that your husband is cheating.
3. Your husband will more than likely take full advantage of the fact that you are out of town. So you can trick your husband by telling him that you will be going away for a weekend, be sure to give him details of when you are leaving and when you are expected back. Say goodbye, find a good vantage point from which to view your house and wait, you should not have to wait too long.
4. It is important that you keep an eye on all your husband's financial transactions. This includes ATM withdrawals, receipts, and credit card statements, keep an eye out for any unusual transactions. You may be lucky and find some obvious evidence such as motel room receipts, or a jeweller's receipts, although you have not had any new jewellery recently. Your husband may be cleverer than this, and could be using cash to buy gifts or pay for things for his new lover. He may give himself away though if he is withdrawing the same sum of money at the same time every week or month, which he will be using to pay for a motel room.
5. Always keep a close eye on his cell phone records, and your home phone records. Look out for repeated calls, or calls that last a long time, or at strange times of the day. Monitor how he uses his cellphone, does he move out of earshot before he answers it? Make note of all the times when his cell phone is turned off, is there a pattern to this?
If you have no concrete information on your husband you can always play the bluff, try saying something like, I know what you've been up to and I will give you one chance to own up and tell me the truth. You may be able to get the information you need, but chances are he will just lie to the bitter end.
Rest assured though that he will screw up sooner or later you just need to be patient and watchful. The easiest way to do this is to hire a private investigator, however, this can be expensive and will also add to your guilt if your partner is not cheating. My advice is to start off by looking for these signs then if you feel it is necessary move onto the next step.
